The County Treasurer duties and responsibilities include:
- Primary duty is to receive all revenues for the county
- Official collector of all taxes levied within the county and designated to mail statements of real estate and personal property taxes due as well as special assessments (irrigation; city or village sewer, trash and weed mowing)
- Distribute funds collected monthly to the schools, city, village, fire districts, cemetery districts, irrigation districts and other political subdivisions
- Management of cash resources and investments
- Responsible to title, register and plate all motor vehicles, trailers and watercrafts
- Issue driver’s license, CDL, learner’s permits, school permits and ID cards
